Lily's new back yard :)

I mentioned in an earlier post that we were in the process of finishing the back yard. For those of you who don't know, we live in downtown Wilmington less than a mile from the Cape Fear River. While we love the location (and our house!), we were on a very small city lot, most of which was taken up by our house. About 6 months after we moved in, the lot behind us went up for sale and we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy it and double our lot size. Unfortunately, buying the lot left us a little short on cash, but after a year and a half of owning the lot we were finally able to take the time and money to turn it into an amazing back yard! We hired a landscaper to level out the ground, bring in some clean soil and sod, and then Mark, his cousin Nate and I put in the patio. Much easier said than done - it was a LONG weekend of hard work, but it was well worth it!! There is still a lot to do (furniture, landscaping, etc.), but now Lily has a great place to run around and enjoy the outdoors :) She's already taking a few steps at a time, so she'll be running around back there pretty soon!!
